Meeting No. 19 - Booth Sale Prep!

WOW!! 3000+ BOXES in Door-to-Door sales, and still orders coming in! Congrats again girls! You all worked really hard to accomplish your goals! Today at the meeting, we talked a little more about what they would like to do with their cookie profit and we made glitzy booth sale signs that are SURE to draw the attention of every customer! Troop 457 ROCKS!

Awesome Job to the girls and parents of troop 457 who worked really hard to sell

3000+ boxes of cookies !!  

I am looking forward to a great booth sale season too! During the next few meetings, the girls will be making decisions on how to spend a portion of their cookie money and deciding what fun activities they want to do this Spring! Again - job well done!!

Meeting No. 18 - Cookie Rally!!!!

"Selling cookies teaches goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, & business ethics—aspects essential to leadership, to success, & to life," www.girlscouts.org.

We had a full house today for our Cookie Rally today! We talked about individual goals and troop goals and discussed ways that we can use our cookie profits. We talked about managing money while out selling cookies and during booth sales, and how to act around our cookie customers! We also played a few games to familiarize the girls with all the cookies they were selling! The girls all had a great time and were pumped about selling cookies!

2012 Christmas Party @ Petticoat Junction

Our troop Christmas Party was held at Petticoat Junction in Greenville, Texas, and what a party it was! The girls snacked on finger foods and then made a pinch pot! Kim and Lauren taught them special techniques when working with clay and they got to make something that they can keep forever! Even the parents joined in and made pots too! They earned their Potter Badge and several fun patches! A special thank you to Petticoat Junction! We all had a wonderful time...we will be back! Merry Christmas!!

Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells @ DCT

This was our second visit to the Dallas Children's Theater as a troop! This year we went to see Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells and it was AWESOME! After the play, the girls were able to meet with the characters and get them to sign their playbill or poster! What an amazing experience for the girls to get to interact with the characters! Dallas Children's Theater is truly one of the neatest places I have been too!

December- Girl Scouts of The Month

Every month, a member of troop 457 is featured in the "Girl Scout of the Month," section in the newsletter that is mailed out to all the girls. The Girl Scout of the month also receives a special patch! This month there are 2 Girl Scouts of the Month!
