Investiture Ceremony

Today was an exciting day for all 9 girls and myself! During the past few months, the girls have been learning about all of the patches and badges that go on the front of their vest. They each choose an emblem to learn about and to present at the ceremony. All of their hard work paid off...they received all of their patches and badges today!

They preformed their first flag ceremony! They also held their first candle ceremony. These candles represent the law and the promise and how they brighten the life of the Girl Scouts who observe them. Each girl lit a candle as we read the Girl Scout Promise and the Law.

Each girl received her insignia tab and pins. They were all afraid I was going to poke them when I pinned it to their vest!

Promising to carry the flame of Girl Scouting forever in their hearts, the girls gathered around the candles and softly blew them out together.

A reception followed the ceremony. Family and friends all gathered in a circle, right arm over left, and proceeded with the brownie circle ritual that the girls love. They enjoyed seeing their family participate in this fun activity. There were even a few giggles from the parents!

We are officially Girl Scouts! Congratulations!
